Here are a few of the current projects that I'm working on:
Symphoniq is a new system management software company founded by one of my investors in TargetFirst, Hon Wong. Symphoniq is creating the next generation of systems management tools, starting with data analytics.
I got involved with Symphoniq when Hon asked me help with marketing. Since then, we've conducted close to 20 detailed market validation interviews to identify what we believe is a very attractive market opportunity.
Symphoniq is headquartered in Palo Alto, CA, and is backed by InterWest Venture Partners (who funded Silicon Graphics and Ciena) and Greylock (who funded Ascend Communications, Teradyne, and Tellabs).
EMBEDDED WORLDS
Embedded Worlds is an online gaming startup that is creating a new gaming platform for Massively Multiplayer Online Games (MMOGs). Embedded Worlds will reduce the barriers to adoption that hamper the current crop of MMOGs (e.g. EverQuest, Ultima Online). MMOGs will become ubiquitous on Web browsers and mobile devices.
I'm working on Embedded Worlds with my old partners, Albert Lin, Tom Kuegler, and Thomas Leavitt. We have created a specification and engineering prototype, and are entering the initial development phase.
Velocity Services, Inc. is the recognized leader in Affinity based ISP services. Since its inception, VSI's products have been licensed to some of the world’s most dominant companies, sports franchises, universities, entertainment entities, non-profit foundations and other large affinity organizations.
I'm a member of the Advisory Board for Velocity, along with august personages as Steve Wozniak, Reed Hundt, and former baseball commissioner Fay Vincent. I'm quite honored to be included in such distinguished company. I'll do my best to pull my weight!
Umaveda is a high-end, luxury retailer of traditional ayurvedic cosmetics and hygiene products from India. Based on milennia of study, Ayurveda uses herbal preparations that are suited to your particular body type to promote health and beauty.
Umaveda focuses on using non-traditional distribution channels such as e-tail, holistic medicine shops, and yoga studios to bring the benefits of Ayurveda to high-end Western consumers.
Umaveda is based in Los Gatos, CA. My role is to advise the founder and CEO, Puneet Wadhwa, on marketing and strategy.
